Common questions
What's the difference between a session and a meeting?+
A session is part of a plan (a pack credit) — the lessons, training slots, or appointments your enrollment covers. A meeting, or appointment, is a standalone slot booked from an event type's page or someone's availability calendar, independent of any plan.
What is an event type?+
One bookable thing a business offers — a Discovery Call, a trial lesson, a 60-minute class — with its own length, description and public booking page. Event types were previously called Services. Every plan also declares which event type its sessions are booked as, which is what gives a pack session its length and its own page.
Why can't I book this session without a pack?+
Because a plan sells that session as pack credits. Its page offers you the pack instead of an open slot, and once you hold credits the same page books it and spends one. It stays that way even after the plan stops being sold, so credits people already bought still have somewhere to go.
What are the three booking addresses for?+
/business/{slug}/bookavailableslot is the open one — pick a person, pick a time, no account needed. /business/{slug}/bookanevent lists your event types, each with its own page and its own length and rules. /business/{slug}/sessions is for enrolled clients spending pack credits, so it asks them to sign in first.
A booking link I saved now asks me to sign in — did it move?+
The public availability page moved from /business/{slug}/sessions to /business/{slug}/bookavailableslot. The old address is now the client session-booking page, and it offers you the public page too — so a saved link still gets you to open times in one click.
Why do I see different words — clients, members, personnel, trainers?+
Each business chooses its own terminology. One business's "Clients" and "Personnel" are another's "Members" and "Coaches". The roles work identically: an owner runs the business, personnel deliver sessions, clients book them.
How do I contact support?+
For issues with a specific business (bookings, refunds, schedules), contact that business directly — its contact details are on its public page. For platform or technical problems, contact our support team at support@nextavailableslot.com.
Is my data private?+
Yes — see our Privacy Policy. Your bookings and payment records are visible only to you and the business you booked with. If you connect an external calendar (such as Google Calendar), NextAvailableSlot only reads the busy time blocks to prevent double-booking; the titles, descriptions, and details of your other personal meetings remain completely private.
