Seasonal Hours & Date-Ranged Rules

A repeating rule can be given a season — a start date, an end date, or both — so a schedule change can be set up ahead of time instead of being remembered on the day.

Details

  • From: the rule does nothing until that date arrives. Use it to write September's timetable in July without disturbing the current one.
  • Until: the rule stops on that date. Use it for a term, a semester, or a summer schedule.
  • Both dates are inclusive, and either can be used on its own. A rule with no dates is always in season, which is how every rule written before this behaves.
  • The rule list shows the season next to the rule, so an out-of-season rule reads as dormant rather than as a broken calendar.

Good to know

  • An inverted range (until before from) is rejected rather than saved — it could only ever produce a rule that is never in season.
  • Seasons are dates in your business's own calendar, not timestamps, so they are unaffected by where your clients are.
